Background
Logan David is the Chief Executive Officer of LendUp LLC, where he leads the company's loan-matching platform, financial education content, and day-to-day operations.
He has more than two decades of experience across financial systems, commercial and retail lending, and financial operations, spanning regional banking and financial technology.
His career began in financial systems analysis, working on the systems and reporting structures behind financial data before moving into lending itself.
He spent close to nine years managing regional commercial and retail lending portfolios, monitoring credit risk, handling asset management, and steering lending pipelines through a number of difficult market cycles. That period covered both sides of consumer and business credit: how lending decisions are made, and how the terms attached to them affect the people repaying them.
Logan later moved into financial technology, working in financial operations at ScaleFactor, an Austin-based platform serving small businesses. There he handled backend financial data validation, client analytics, and workflow automation setup, working closely with the product and data teams on how financial information was organized and presented in user-facing dashboards.
Logan David says:
“Most people looking for a loan are not short of options. They are short of clear information. Our job is to make the costs, the terms, and the repayment expectations easy to see before anyone commits to anything.”
At LendUp, Logan has led the continued development of the loan-matching platform, improving how consumers access and understand borrowing options. He has worked to strengthen the company's financial education content, making complex topics such as APRs, fees, repayment, and responsible borrowing easier to understand.
Much of his attention has gone to the customer journey itself — simplifying the steps a consumer moves through and addressing usability issues across the platform, and on closer coordination between the product, technology, content, and financial operations teams.
He has also worked on refining internal processes and operational workflows as the business and the platform have evolved, guiding LendUp toward a clearer, more consumer-focused marketplace experience.
Working Experience
Chief Executive Officer — LendUp LLC
August 2023 – Present · Dover, Delaware
Logan leads the continued development of LendUp's loan-matching platform. His focus has been the path a consumer takes from arriving with a particular need to seeing a clear set of options: making that path shorter, and each step on it easier to follow.
A large part of the job is the company's financial education content. Logan has worked to make subjects such as APRs, fees, repayment schedules, and responsible borrowing understandable to readers without a background in finance, and to keep those explanations consistent wherever they appear across the site.
He works directly on usability as well, looking at the points where consumers hesitate, drop out, or misread what they are being shown, and simplifying those steps across the platform.
Day to day, the position involves coordination between the product, technology, content, and financial operations teams, so that changes to the platform, the guidance published alongside it, and the operational processes underneath all move together rather than separately.
He has also worked on refining internal processes and operational workflows as the business and the platform have grown, guiding LendUp toward a clearer, more consumer-focused marketplace experience.
Financial Operations Specialist — ScaleFactor
September 2018 – September 2020 · Austin, Texas
Logan handled backend financial data validation for small-business accounts, checking that the financial information flowing into the platform was accurate and internally consistent before it reached the businesses relying on it.
The role also covered client analytics and workflow automation setup — configuring the processes that carried financial data through the system so that routine steps could run without manual handling.
He worked closely with the product and data teams on the structure of user dashboard reporting, reorganizing how financial information was grouped and shown to account holders. He remained with the company until it wound down operations in mid-2020.
Senior Loan Portfolio Manager — Irwin Union Bank
January 2009 – September 2017 · Columbus, Indiana
Logan managed a mix of regional commercial and retail lending portfolios, covering both business borrowers and individual consumers across the bank's regional footprint.
Much of the work came down to credit risk — tracking how existing loans were performing, identifying accounts that were beginning to deteriorate, and handling asset management across the portfolios under his responsibility.
He also steered lending pipelines through a number of difficult market cycles. That period shaped his understanding of how lending decisions are reached on the institutional side, and of how the terms attached to a loan land on the person repaying it.
Financial Systems Analyst — Oakwood Financial Technologies, LLC
November 2001 – February 2008
Logan began his career at Oakwood Financial Technologies as a Financial Systems Analyst, working on the financial systems and reporting structures that sit behind day-to-day financial data.
The six years he spent there gave him an early grounding in how financial information is captured, structured, and reported — the foundation for the lending and operations work that followed.
