Apps Like EarnIn: 12 Cash Advance Apps and What They Cost Next to EarnIn

Page last reviewed: October 30, 2026 · Reviewed for accuracy by Betty Walsh

EarnIn's Cash Out has no membership. It charges only for instant delivery, called Lightning Speed: $3.99 to $8.99 depending on the amount in most states. It also asks for an optional tip. You can take up to $200 a day and $1,000 per pay period, if you have a regular direct deposit and earn at least $320 per pay period. For $100 repaid in 14 days, EarnIn costs $5.99 sent instantly, plus any tip, or nothing at standard speed.

Here's what 12 other cash advance apps charge for the same advance, worked out from each company's own pricing pages, terms and help center, checked on October 30, 2026. Where an app's own pages disagree, or it publishes only a range, we show the range.

The table below shows what $100 and $200 cost with EarnIn and 12 other apps.

What $100 and $200 Cost Next to EarnIn

Repaid in 14 days, counting one month of membership where most people pay one to get advances, and before any tip. Sorted by the most each app could charge for $100 sent instantly to your bank.

  • For $100 sent instantly, Chime costs less than EarnIn once memberships are counted, and Albert costs the same.
  • For $200, Albert and Chime cost less than EarnIn's $8.99.
  • If an app waives its membership, Tilt, Brigit and Cleo can also come in under EarnIn for $100.
  • At standard speed EarnIn is free, and so are MoneyLion, Albert, Klover, Chime and Current.
  • Chime, Varo, Current and Cash App pay only into their own accounts, so their instant price assumes you bank with them.

Why People Look for an EarnIn Alternative

  • You need more than $200 at once. EarnIn caps Cash Outs at $200 a day ($100 in New York) and $1,000 per pay period, and it says new users average about $85 a day. Dave, Brigit, MoneyLion, Tilt, Albert, Klover, Cleo, Chime, Cash App, Varo and Current advance $500 or more, though few people qualify for their top amounts.
  • You don't get a steady paycheck by direct deposit. EarnIn needs a regular direct-deposit pay schedule and at least $320 per pay period. Tilt says it doesn't need an employer direct deposit, Cleo bases eligibility on your account activity, and Albert doesn't list direct deposit as a requirement.
  • You bank with Chime. EarnIn's list of unsupported banks includes Chime, so Chime's own MyPay is the obvious alternative. Most other apps don't say whether they work with Chime.
  • You live in Connecticut. EarnIn isn't offered there, and neither are Tilt, Cleo, Chime, Current and FloatMe. MoneyLion shows its Connecticut fees only in the app, and Klover offers only its free standard delivery there.
  • You'd rather not be asked for a tip. Among these apps only EarnIn and MoneyLion ask for tips.

Varo Advance

Varo Advance is for Varo Bank customers: up to $700, always instant, with no membership or tips. But every advance costs 8%, or 20% if you don't get $800 a month in deposits. Instant, membership included: $8.00–$20.00 for $100 (EarnIn $5.99), $16.00–$40.00 for $200 (EarnIn $8.99). Full details

Current

Current advances up to $1,000 into a Current account that gets a payroll deposit of at least $200. Standard delivery is free; the instant fee is shown only in the app. Cost: free at standard speed; the instant price isn't published. Full details

FloatMe

FloatMe advances up to $200, like EarnIn's daily limit, with a $6.99 monthly membership it skips if you email and ask, and instant fees of $1 to $10. Instant, membership included: $14.49 for $100 (EarnIn $5.99), $16.99 for $200 (EarnIn $8.99). Full details

Common Questions

What app is most like EarnIn?

MoneyLion works most like EarnIn: no membership, optional tips and a fee only for instant delivery. Klover and Albert also skip the membership, and Chime's MyPay works much the same way if you bank with Chime.

Which apps give you more than EarnIn?

EarnIn allows $200 a day and $1,000 per pay period. Dave, Brigit, Tilt and Cash App go up to $500, Cleo $500 on its Builder plan, Varo $700, Klover and Chime $750, and Albert, MoneyLion and Current $1,000. Few people qualify for the top amounts, and MoneyLion pays its limit out $100 to $200 at a time.

Is there an app like EarnIn that works with Chime?

Chime's own MyPay is the closest: no membership or tips, 3% for instant delivery ($2 to $5) or free within 24 hours. EarnIn lists Chime among the banks it doesn't support, and most other apps don't say either way, so check before you sign up.

Do apps like EarnIn need direct deposit?

Most look for regular deposits into your bank account. Tilt says it doesn't need an employer-issued direct deposit, Cleo bases eligibility on your account activity, and Albert doesn't list direct deposit as a requirement.

Does EarnIn charge a monthly fee?

No. EarnIn charges $3.99 to $8.99 for Lightning Speed in most states and asks for an optional tip; standard transfers are free.

Is EarnIn being sued?

Colorado's attorney general sued EarnIn in August 2026, calling its advances illegal high-cost loans; that case is pending. The District of Columbia's attorney general sued in November 2024. EarnIn says Cash Out is an advance on pay you've earned, not a loan.
